Team Communication

Communication is the key element behind the success of the team. The members of teams must understand each other and should know what their colleagues are up to. They should be very clear about each other’s roles and responsibilities. The team leader should make sure that each member has responsibility as per his/her interest and knowledge. The team leader should not impose anything on the team members because it decreases the productivity of the team.

But sometimes communication may create misunderstandings and confusions within the team. This is very common in case of verbal communication so it is always wise to use written communication for better clarity and transparency. In today’s world, the most common approach to communication is through social media and emails. Always send emails to your team members as a group to avoid misunderstandings. The mails should be sent with all the participants in loop and invite recommendations from them. It is not always true that the leaders are correct; the team members might come out with a brilliant idea as well. The team members should always be encouraged to take part in the discussions as they feel confident when they present their view in front of the team. My team also used emails, Facebook and phone as a source of communication. Here is a screenshot of the  Facebook group we created to interact with each other.:
